About The Wedding.
Our couples’ wedding was set in the romantic and charming Berkeley Castle in the Cotswolds with rambling views of the English countryside. The bride Emma who is a wedding florist and groom Mike met at a rugby event for Mike’s then team Gloucester Rugby. Emma and Mike wanted to create a European style wedding within an old world setting to reflect their timeless yet modern style. Mike is originally from Zimbabwe so many of his family travelled this long distance to celebrate in this unique and ethereal setting which was very touching to be a part of.
One of the many things we loved about working on this wedding was the fact that Emma adored flat lays and was so excited to have us style her bridal details on the morning of the wedding. As a very creative person herself we were thrilled by all of the touches Emma designed herself, even the stunning stationery was designed and made by our talented bride.
The style of the wedding ceremony was feminine and intimate with lots of rose petals and a stunning round floral arch to frame the couple. Later the Great Hall was transformed into an elegant wedding breakfast. Copious candles with differing levels to create dimension, eye-catching gold touches and beautiful blush toned flowers by Stephanie Saunders Luxury Floral Design created a dramatic and luxurious setting for guests. Details included heirloom wax seal name place cards with beautiful calligraphy and naturally placed billowing linens finished with delicious raspberry and chocolate macaron favours.
The light and airy feel of the old English gardens which surrounded the castle was bought inside with an abundance of lush fragrant roses and summer blooms. Naomi Kenton Photography captured every romantic moment and detail. Our personal favourites are of the newlywed couple exploring the grounds together for the first time as husband and wife.
