So...we’ve found our perfect venue!
We're keeping the location quiet for now, but As a wedding planner I’ve felt a lot of pressure to get this right, so having a simple guideline has really helped. Knowing what you want is great, but often when you arrive at a venue you can get carried away in the moment and be easily swayed into decisions that you perhaps wouldn’t ordinarily make.
It’s often hard to find somewhere that ticks all of your boxes and to know what questions you should ask during your visit. You have so many elements to think of like whether it fits in with your style, your number of guests, your budget and your preferred location. It’s also important to determine how flexible you want them to be. Whether our venue dictated which suppliers we could use or whether they would let us choose our own was ultimately a deal breaker for Tom and I.
It seems so simple but having something structured like a list can give you all of the confidence you need to make the right choice. It also helps you to take note of things so that you can look back and review them once you get home (it’s easy to forget something or get confused).
No panicking or rushing into decisions...here’s a list that will help you to decide when a wedding venue is or isn’t right for you.
Oh and don’t forget to take plenty of photos (if you’re given permission. they always help you to remember those little details that you might otherwise forget!
