Bath and The Cotswolds have always had a special place in our hearts, which is why my husband Tom and I decided to get married in The Cotswolds and why we chose Bath as the perfect setting for our engagement shoot with our good friend and photographer Katie Julia. In fact, there was a long weekend break to Bath a couple of months before Tom proposed to me in Capri, Italy where I was pretty certain that Tom was going to pop the question (mainly because most of my girl friends were insisting that it was definitely going to happen then)! Bath is also a short drive away from The Cotswolds venue where were married in March this year so it just felt right!
Tom and I are both self confessed foodies, so there definitely needed to be an element of food in our engagement shoot! We put together a romantic picnic setup (complete with Prosecco and pink lemonade) on the park in front of the awe-inspiring Georgian architecture of Bath’s Royal Crescent. Styling food can be so much fun and it’s definitely a perk of being a wedding stylist when you get to eat the food that you are styling! I have to say olive bread is so delicious and those red grapes were too!
I’m absolutely addicted to buying and wearing statement earrings, and I found it hard to choose between the two pairs that I packed ready for the shoot! In the end I decided to wear a gorgeous pair of rose gold toned jewel tassle drop earrings, which complemented the dress beautifully and added a modern touch to my outfit.
For now our little family to be wouldn’t be complete without our cheeky little french bulldog Harry, so it was essential that he came along too! He was a fantastic (and I think you'll agree gorgeous) model and will do pretty much anything for a treat!
We finished the shoot with cosy and intimate hot chocolates outside a typical yet stylish little English pub (and then a mad dash by me to get inside and in front of that roaring fire)!
